AMERICA'S FRIENDLIEST AIRPORT
“The nicest people and friendly and helpful and very kind and understanding. The airport is beautiful and clean.”
--Comment card from Sky Harbor visitor, 3/5/2008
At Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, customer service is a top priority, second only to safety and security. In a recent survey, 94 percent of responding airport visitors felt Phoenix Sky Harbor is “very friendly” with 92 percent of those saying it is America’s friendliest airport.
Because our airport employees are the main reason so many travelers love flying through Phoenix, Sky Harbor recognizes and rewards members of our airport community who deliver service beyond expectations and have helped us become America’s Friendliest Airport™. Employees observed displaying a “Friendly, Let me help You” or FLY attitude are awarded with a FLY clip to display with their badges, recognized throughout the airport and given a token of appreciation. The “FLY” (Friendly Let me help You) Challenge provides an opportunity to recognize excellent customer service.
This is what a “FLY attitude” entails:
F – Friendly
- Friendly employees are approachable and acknowledge customers with a SMILE!
- Friendly employees stop what they are doing to assist customers
- Friendly means showing a positive attitude throughout every interaction
L – Let me help
- Let me help you before you even ask
- Let me help you by providing accurate information and solutions
- Let me help you by walking you to your destination or information source
Y – You
- You, the customer, are why I am here
- You, the passenger, are not as familiar with PHX as I am so I can help
- You, my fellow employee, count on me for teamwork
- You, the visitor, rely on my service no matter what my job description says
