NOTICE OF RESULTS
PLANNING COMMISSION

Pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the PLANNING COMMISSION to the general public, that the pLANNING COMMISSION held a meeting open to the public on November 12, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. located in Assembly Room C, First Floor, Phoenix City Hall, 200 West Washington Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

 

The results of the meeting were as follows:

Approved	I.		APPROVAL OF MINUTES: For correction or approval of the Planning Commission briefing minutes of October 7, 2008 (Commissioner Gallegos) {5 minutes}
	II.		DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
Initiated		A.	Request to initiate a text amendment to section 647.A.2.aa and 623.D of the Phoenix Zoning Ordinance to remove the Special Permit requirement for a tattoo shop in the C-2, C-3 and RSC districts and add it as a permitted use in the C-2 district at the request of the Central City Village Planning Committee which voted 15-1 on August 11, 2008 to initiate such an amendment - Carol Johnson {5 minutes}
Initiated		B.	Request to initiate a Text Amendment to Section 654.IV. (North Black Canyon Overlay District) of the Zoning Ordinance to add commercial design guidelines. – Tricia Gomes {5 minutes}
Initiated		C.	Discussion and possible initiation of a text amendment to Section 702 Off-street Parking and Loading and Chapter 2 Definitions of the Zoning Ordinance to allow an alternative parking plan for projects qualifying as adaptive reuse – Michelle Dodds {5 minutes}
Discussed		D.	Update on GPA-2-08 to amend the Natural Resources Conservation Element to the Natural Resources Conservation and Energy Element – Michelle Dodds {5 minutes}
Withdrawn		E.	Discussion and possible withdrawal of GPA-CE-1-00-6, an amendment to change Pierson Street to Highland Avenue from the alley east of 12th Street to the midpoint between 13th & 14th streets from Residential 15+ to Commercial. This case involved the car dealerships and plan for a redevelopment area – Michael LaBianca {5 minutes}
Withdrawn		F.	Discussion and possible withdrawal of GPA-SM-3-96-8, an amendment to the Street Classification Map to reclassify 32nd Street between Southern Avenue and Baseline Road from an Arterial to a lesser standard – Michael LaBianca {5 minutes}
Initiated		G.	Request to initiate a text amendment to the City of Phoenix Zoning Ordinance to define and permit Senior Living Facilities (Independent Living), Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Care, Adult Day Care and associated uses where appropriate and delete or redefine Nursing Home and Personal Care Home – Larry Tom {5 minutes}
Discussed		H.	Report from Nominating Committee and discussion on 2009 Chair and Vice-Chair. - Ms. Katsenes  {5 minutes}

COMMISSION MEMBER REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION, FOLLOW-UP AND FUTURE ITEMS This item is scheduled to give Commission members an opportunity to publicly request information, follow-up on issues of interest to the community, and future items.  If the information is available, staff will immediately present it to the Commission.  No discussion will be held or action taken.
