NOTICE OF RESULTS
Fire Safety Advisory Board

Pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Fire Safety Advisory Board and to the general public, that the Fire Safety Advisory Board held a meeting open to the public on November 13, 2008 at 12:00 pm located in the Administrative Conference Room, Second Floor, Fire Administration Building: 150 S. 12th Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

 

The results of the meeting were as follows:

Discussion and possible action on 2006 International Fire Code with Phoenix Amendments Sections:

 

A.     106.5.1 Re-inspection.  This section is amended to include improper addressing as a reason for a re-inspection fee.

 

B.     Section 105.2.4 Work without a permit.  – revises the language making this a separate section. *Renumber section accordingly.

Section 4602.11 Investigations fee. – This language amends Chapter 46 Fees to correspond with the charging statement in Section 105.2.4.

 

C.    Section 105.2.7 Completing work and final inspection. – Language is amended to specify that only new construction permits are valid for 24 months.

 

D.    Section 105.8.1 Hazardous Materials Assessment Fees. Changes language to reflect any facility.  Remainder of section remains unchanged.

 

E.     Section 105.8.2 Outside storage assessment fees.  Charging statement is added to Chapter 1.

 

F.     Section 106.9 Expedited general inspections.  Charging language is added to allow for general inspections to be completed out of order, at the customers request, for a fee.  Subsequently renumbers Section 106.9-106.9.2 to 106.10 to 106.10.2.

 

Section 4603.5.1 Expedited General Inspections This language amends Chapter 46 Fees to correspond with the charging statement in Section 106.9.

 

G.    Section 507 Hazards to Fire Fighters And *Fire Department Personnel.  Amends the title and language to protect any person entering a building or premises.

 

H.     Section 4602.2 Revisions to approved plans. Lowers the fee to $135.

I.         Chapter 46-Fees, Sub-Chapter 33 Explosives

Language is added to charge a fee for expedited plan review for blasting and pyrotechnics not received within ten business days.
