METH: don't even start

The following also is provided in Spanish. Lo siguiente también es provisto en Español.

The city of Phoenix produced the "METH: don't event start" DVD, with videos warning youth of the dangers of crystal methamphetamine. Schools statewide serving students from seventh through 12th grades received copies. The city's know99 and PHX11 television stations produced the pieces, with one video for middle school/junior high students and the other for high school students.

The idea for the educational campaign grew from the city's Crystal Methamphetamine Task Force, chaired by Vice Mayor Dave Siebert and Councilman Tom Simplot, who wrote a letter along with Mayor Phil Gordon that was distributed with the school mailing. A resource guide for use by Arizona schools will be available for download on August 23, 2007.

If you would like to view the video online, visit phoenix.gov/streamingor you can request a copy by calling 602-495-0314 or emailing youth@phoenix.gov. The videos are also available at all Phoenix Public Library branches.
