We typically receive more than 110 applications a year from
talented individuals of all backgrounds from throughout the
United States and the city organization.
While no final decisions have yet been made on the program
this year, we needed to begin recruiting because the process
is competitive and very involved.
Each year, 8-12 semifinalists are invited to a two-day interview
process. The city usually selects two to three individuals
a year. They will work together as a class and on professional-level,
individual assignments that are city priorities throughout
the program year.
In the past 10 years, one in three selected participants
have been city employees. Recent classes have come from such
departments as Water Services, Equal Opportunity, Human Services,
and Parks and Recreation.
