New Restrictions

BELL ROAD AT SCOTTSDALE ROAD INTERSECTION

Bell Road is scheduled to be restricted from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8 until 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9 for paving of the intersection.

During this work, Bell Road will be reduced to two lanes (one each way) with left turn lanes open. Additionally, Scottsdale Road will be restricted to two lanes (one each way) with left turn lanes open.

This project is being managed by the City of Scottsdale.

The project is scheduled for completion by August 2009.

Drivers are encouraged to allow for additional travel time during this period.

DEER VALLEY ROAD AT 1-17

Deer Valley Road is scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, July 2 until 5 a.m. Friday, July 3.

Deer Valley Road through traffic will be detoured at either 19th or 27th avenues.

This work is being done by ADOT as part of the Deer Valley Road bridge at I-17 reconstruction project.

The project is scheduled for completion by December 2009.

Drivers are encouraged to allow for additional travel time during this period.

Special Events

FREEDOM WIRELESS FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION - SATURDAY, JULY 4

The Freedom Wireless Fabulous Phoenix 4th will kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 4 at Steele Indian School Park at Third Street and Indian School Road.

The following streets will be closed Saturday, July 4 for this event:

Ingress for the event will start at 5 p.m. on the following streets:

Egress for the event will start at 7:30 p.m. on the following streets:

Metro Light Rail will continue service throughout the event.

Local access will be maintained.

Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

All streets will be open to normal traffic by (midnight) 12 a.m. Sunday, July 5.

Reopening After Restrictions

McDOWELL ROAD - 19TH TO 21ST AVENUES

McDowell Road is now open to normal traffic after the completion of a rail road track and roadway improvements project.

VAN BUREN STREET - 32ND TO 35TH STREETS

Van Buren is now open to normal traffic after the completion of concrete sidewalk work.

79TH AVENUE - MCDOWELL ROAD TO PALM LANE

79th Avenue, from McDowell Road to Palm Lane, is now open to normal traffic after the installation of underground utilities as part of an on-going roadway improvements project.
