Mobile Website Receives Accolades

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was recently bestowed with a first place award for its mobile website from Airports Council International North America (ACI-NA). The award was part of ACI-NA’s 2012 Communications Awards in which applicants in the website category were judged on easy navigation, innovative design and communication.

Phoenix Sky Harbor’s mobile website, which was launched last November, gives travelers the opportunity to use their mobile devices to find out vital airport information while on the go. This is an important customer service amenity in which travelers can find information on flight status, parking information, and even find out what shops and restaurants are close to their gates. All of the information is formatted so that it is easy to read on a mobile device. The mobile website was developed in-house by Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Technology team with the assistance of the Public Relations division, and in the first month of its launch, the new mobile site was receiving 14,000 visits per week.
