Employee Bestowed with Distinguished Award
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is pleased to announce that Tracee Crockett, program manager for the Community Noise Reduction Program’s Voluntary Acquisition and Relocation Services (VARS), has been recognized as the YWCA of Maricopa County’s Emerging Leader of the Year.
Crockett, pictured above right holding her award, was recognized at the 2011 Tribute to Women luncheon held on Feb. 17 at the Arizona Biltmore. She was among 10 special guests who were recognized in various categories, including sports, education, creative arts, business and philanthropy.
The Emerging Leader award honors an up and coming woman whose initiative, passion, drive and action have made a tangible, positive difference in improving the lives of others.
In her capacity as VARS program manager at Sky Harbor, Crockett manages a team of nearly 20 employees and is responsible for the oversight of more than 550 Aviation-owned parcels. VARS is a voluntary “buy-out” program for eligible homeowners to sell their residences to the city of Phoenix and relocate to a comparable dwelling outside of the program area and outside other noise-impacted areas.
Crockett has worked for the city of Phoenix for 13 years in various departments, including the Mayor’s Office, Parks and Recreation, Human Services and several divisions within Aviation.
The Tribute to Women luncheon serves as the premier Valley event for honoring women whose lives and accomplishments exemplify the YWCA’s mission – eliminating discrimination and empowering women.
