Delta Hosts Day of Hope

On May 10, Delta Airlines celebrated its worldwide Delta Day of Hope. Employees from 54 Delta locations, including stations in the United Kingdom and Japan, walked to raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer. More than 100 Delta employees participated in the walk at Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Terminal 3. A team of employees from American Airlines also joined the effort. More than $4,000 was been raised for the American Cancer Society.

Cancer has touched many employees in various ways, and employees were happy to be able to participate. In fact, five Delta employees who are cancer survivors and several caregivers came out to show their support for the program. Employees also decorated luminary bags remembering those who are battling, have survived or who lost their lives to cancer.
