Sky Harbor Marks 75 Years

This year marks a momentous occasion in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport's history. It is the 75th Anniversary of the purchase of Sky Harbor Airport by the city of Phoenix. The city of Phoenix purchased Sky Harbor in 1935 for the sum of $100,000.

Over the next few weeks, this section will feature a series of stories and short video clips about the history of Sky Harbor as well as memorable moments that shaped the Airport. Hear from former and current employees as well as city leaders and aviation enthusiasts as they describe their favorite memories of Sky Harbor Airport and what they think the future will hold.
