Want to reserve a ramada/picnic area for family or corporate gathering? The Parks and Recreation Department offers a limited number of reservable ramadas in traditional city parks as well in the more quiet setting of our desert preserves. Dozens of additional parks throughout the city also have ramadas that are available for day use on a first-come, first-served basis. City Park Picnic AreasEncanto Park

Features: This park, located in central Phoenix, has two uncovered Island Picnic areas available for reservations on weekends from September through May. Reservations cover the hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no reservations on holidays. Each area has 6 picnic tables and 1 grill and capacity for 100 people.
Fee: None
Guidelines: The areas must be reserved two full working days prior to reservation. A reserved area must be claimed within 30 minutes of requested start time or it will revert to a first-come, first-serve basis. Water balloons are not allowed. Amplified music is permitted on the Island area only with staff approval and a sound permit. Beer is allowed only with alcohol permit. Margaret T. Hance Park

Features: This park, also located in central Phoenix, has two ramadas, each with a capacity of 75 people available for reservations seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ramadas are not reservable on most holidays and when large special events are scheduled at the park. Inflatable moonwalks and on-site catering require prior approval from park manager by calling 602-534-2406.

Guidelines: The ramadas must be reserved two full working days prior to reservation. Reserved ramadas must be claimed within 30 minutes of requested start time or they will lose their reservation and park staff will not be available to open gates, ramada and/or restrooms. Piñatas and water balloons are not allowed. No amplified music is permitted in the ramada areas. Ramadas are lighted, fenced, gated and locked. When not reserved, the ramadas are available for walk-in use between Monday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is no driving or skating of any kind on park grounds. Use of any type of tape is prohibited. Reservations can be made no more than 6 months in advance. Beer is permitted with an alcohol permit.

Features: Two medium ramadas that can accommodate 60 people are available for reservation in the Neighborhod Park; one is south of the volleyball court and one is adjacent to the playground). Available weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Holidays excluded). Two BBQ grills. Additional park details are available on the Steele Indian School Park webpage.
Fee: noneGuidelines: Ramadas can only be reserved on weekends; holidays excluded. Reservations can be made September through May; ramadas are only available on a first-come, first-served basis June through August. The Phoenix Green is flood irrigated so fields could be wet or moist. To schedule an activity with more than 100 person please call 602-495-0739. Certificates of Insurance, deposits and fees are applicable.
Mountain/Desert Preserve Picnic Areas
North Mountain Park10600 N. 7th St.

Features: North Mountain Park has several areas that can be reserved. The Havasupai Ramada has a capacity of 150, the Yavapai Ramada has a capacity 100 and Pima Areas 1 & 2 can accommodate up to 50 people each. This area also boasts a children's playground, Nine ramada areas available on a first-come, first served basis. The two smaller areas can accommodate 10 people, the largest non-reservable area, the Paiute Ramada, can accommodate up to 100 people.
There also are several ramadas available on a first-come, first-served basis. The smallest can accommodate 10 people, the largest up to 90 people.

There is only one reservation per day per ramada. All other ramadas at the park are first come, first served. Beer permits are allowed for reservable ramadas only. No moon walks or dunk tanks allowed. Reservation hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
South Mountain Park

Features: South Mountain Park/Preserve has several reservable picnic areas:
Big Ramada (capacity 150) and Little Ramada (capacity 80) are on a gentle rise that offers sweeping views of the Phoenix skyline. Both areas have a dance platform and a restroom. Beer and music permits are available.

Las Lomitas Las Lomitas is closed until further notice for Maintenance.
Contains 12 tables, restrooms and a dance platform that accommodates 200 people. Alcohol and music permits are available.

The Activity ComplexFees: $20 per hour with a three hour minimumMinimum $200.00 deposit.Beer Permits: $12.50Insurance certificate and other permits may be required depending on event/activity.Guidelines: Reservations can be made no more than six months in advance. Amplified music is only allowed with a permit at reservable ramadas and Activity Complex. Other ramadas in South Mountain Park/Preserve are available on a first come, first served basis.

Features: Papago Park has numerous reservable ramadas. All ramadas are equipped with electricity (unless noted) and water, and are lighted. Additional details are listed below. Ramada's are not reservable on City of Phoenix holidays.
RAMADA #2 has four, 18-foot tables and three grills. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms located across roadway. There is available parking for 24 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 80.

RAMADA #9 and #10 Island These ramadas must be reserved as a pair. They have eight tables of various sizes, two grills, and two fireplaces. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms located at Ranger Office. There is 42 parking spaces and available overflow parking in the Phoenix Zoo parking lot. Rental includes stage and a sand volleyball court. Maximum capacity is 250. Fee: $60
RAMADA #11 (Lake #2) has two tables, one grill and one fireplace. Amplified music is NOT permitted. Restrooms at Ranger Office. Available Parking for 20 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 16.
Fee: $25
RAMADA #12 (Lake #1) has one 21-foot long table and one grill. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available Parking for 11 vehicles. Maximum capacity is 20. Electricity available only after sunset. Fee: $25

Reservations times are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Maximum capacity guidelines for each area will be strictly enforced.

Beer permits for Phoenix parks are available at all Parks Division Offices and at the Parks and Recreation Department Main Office on the 16th floor of Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St. Permits are $12.50. Beer is permitted only in outdoor facilities and no glass containers are permitted.
