The Shemer Art Center and Museum is nestled in Arcadia, one of the finest residential neighborhnoods in Phoenix, boasting a panoramic view of Camelback Mountain. Located in a historic home built in 1919, the Shemer Art Center and Museum offers artists and community members a unique and inviting atmosphere to enjoy and learn more about the visual arts.

The Shemer Art Center and Museum's range of exhibitions is diverse, including traditional and nontradtional works by Arizona artists. Exhibition opportunities are offered to artists of all levels of experience, edia, style and technique. The Shemer is expecially proud to give emerging Arizona artists an opportunity to exhibit and make connections in the local art community.

The Front Gallery, the home's former living and dining rooms, is where solo exhibitions take place. The home's former bedrooms, now known as the Main Gallery, is where group and themed exhibitions are displayed. On average, the Shemer hosts approximately ten new exhibitions each year. New exhibitions are planned one to two years in advance. Please click here if you are interested in learning more about exhibiting at Shemer.

One gallery in the Shemer's south wing, the Howard House Room, is reserved for our beloved miniature colonial house. A gift from Mr. and Mrs. Karl W. Gullers, the house is a favorite of visitors both young and young at heart. The Howard House Room also hosts rotating displays of artwork from Shemer's Permanent Collection, which grows through the generous gifts of artists and donors.

The Shemer Art Center and Museum is, above all, a welcoming home for the arts and those who love the arts. We hope you will stop by to visit us soon and see what is new in the galleries!
