Phoenix Public Library Honors Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Oct. 18

Phoenix Public Library Foundation and the Friends of Phoenix Public Library will honor the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community during its 20th annual fundraiser, “Dinner in the Stacks,” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221. N. Central Ave.

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is being recognized for its continuing commitment to children’s literacy. Through grants totaling more than $100,000 over the past six years, the community has supported the library’s winter reading program, “Catch BookBreath @ your library.” During this period, more than 120,000 children and their families participated in the program, ensuring a lifelong love for books and reading.

Proceeds from this year’s event will support programs that provide children with a quality literacy experience at their library.

Individual tickets are $300; corporate sponsorships start at $3,000.

Seating is limited.  To make reservations, contact Rita Marko at 602-534-2025.
