  • Can I lease an apartment if I'm under the age of 18 years? Minors and emancipated minors are not eligible to sign and execute a lease with the City of Phoenix Housing Department.

  • I'm a single person with limited income. I'm not elderly or disabled/disabled. Am I eligible to lease an apartment? Yes, single persons meeting the income requirements are eligible to lease a one-bedroom apartment.

  • What types of accommodations do you make for persons with a disability/handicap? Accommodations can be arranged for families that have a household member with a disability or handicap. Accommodations include but are not limited to retro-fitted units for individuals confined to a wheelchair and equipment to assist persons who are deaf or blind.

  • Can I have a waterbed? No, waterbeds are not allowed.

  • Can I alter my apartment? No, apartments cannot be altered. Residents may hang photos, frames, pictures and clocks. The following treatments are not allowed; wall to wall tacked down carpet, painting of interior walls, application of wallpaper or contact paper, any type of wall texture or sponge painting, sticky kitchen shelf paper or screwed in cup hooks in the cupboards. This also means, residents are NOT allowed to install their own locks on either interior or exterior doors.
