Wally Straughn
Mr. Straughn is recommended by Councilman Claude Mattox. He replaces Mark Jacoby who resigned. Mr. Straughn will serve a partial term to expire November
19, 2009 representing
District 5.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN
TRUST
I nominate the
following reappointment to Chair:
Alton
Washington
Mr. Washington is the Assistant City Manager and will be
the City Manager’s designee. Mr. Washington completed his first term and will serve a
second effective October 1, 2008 to expire September 30, 2010.
HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION
I nominate the
following appointment:
Mary
Gillmore
Dr. Gillmore is the Director of the ASU School of Social Work. She replaces Debra Friedman who resigned. Dr. Gillmore will serve her first term to expire September 17, 2010
representing the field of Education.

CITIZENS CORPS COMMITTEE
I
nominate the following as Chair:
Claude
Mattox
Councilman
Mattox represents District 5. He
replaces former Councilmember Dave Siebert and will complete a new term as
Chair to expire September 17, 2010. Councilman Mattox will represent the Phoenix
City Council.
I nominate the
following new appointee:
Chris
Ketterer
Mr. Ketterer is the Deputy Fire Chief of the Phoenix Fire
Department. He replaces Richard Bovee whose term expired.
Mr. Ketterer will complete his first term to
expire December 31, 2010 representing the Phoenix Fire Department.
I nominate the
following reappointment:
Barbara
Glaus
Ms. Glaus is the Assistant Water Services Director for the City
of Phoenix. She represents the
Water Services Department and will complete a second term to expire December 31, 2010.

I nominate the
following new appointees:
Kristen Lopez
Ms. Lopez is the
Education & Programs Manager for the Arizona Small Business
Association. She replaces Janine Irons
who resigned. Ms. Lopez will complete a
partial term to expire August 31, 2010 representing the field of businesses.
Jesus Love
Mr. Love is the
Vice President & Branch Manager for US Bank. He replaces Cory Miller. Mr. Love will complete a partial term to
expire on August 31, 2009 representing the field of businesses.
Judy Norris
Ms. Norris is the
Senior HR Consultant for the Arizona Public Service. She replaces Louise Moskowitz. Ms. Norris will complete a partial term to
expire August 31, 2011 representing the field of businesses.
Cynthia Spell
Ms. Spell is the Deputy Director
of the Phoenix Workforce Connection. She
replaces Bobby Franco who resigned. Ms.
Spell will complete a partial term to expire August
31, 2011
serving as the Mayor’s representative.
WEST PHOENIX REVITALIZATION COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD
I recommend the following adjustment:
Faith Weese
Ms. Weese is the Chief University
Relations Officer at Grand Canyon University and resides in
District 5. She is currently on the
board representing citizens and will replace John Hepburn as the Higher
Education representative. Ms. Weese will complete a partial term to expire April 5, 2011.
WORKFORCE CONNECTIONS YOUTH INITIATIVES
COMMITTEE
I nominate the
following reappointments:
Manny Davila
Mr. Davila is a Commander
with the Phoenix Police Department currently representing law enforcement. He has completed his fourth term and will
complete a fifth to expire August 31, 2009.
Frank Groenewold
Mr. Groenewold currently represents the field of Juvenile
Probation. He has completed his third term and will complete a fourth to expire
August 31, 2009.
Mawa Jabateh
Ms. Jabateh currently represents the field of Youth
Representative. She has completed her partial term and will serve a full term
to expire August 31, 2009.
Thomas Jenkins
Mr. Jenkins currently
represents the field of Secondary Education. He has completed his second term
and will complete a third to expire August 31, 2009.
Nancy Konitzer
Ms. Konitzer currently represents the field of Experienced
Youth Organization. She has completed her second term and will complete a third
to expire August 31, 2009.
Dr. Xavier
Morales
Dr. Morales currently
represents the field of businesses sharing his expertise with the Organization
Serving Youth. He has completed his fourth term and will complete a fifth to
expire August 31, 2009.
Zona
Pacheco
Ms. Pacheco currently
represents the field of Public Housing. She has completed her second term and
will complete a third to expire August 31, 2009.
Melanie Radford
Ms. Redford currently
represents the field of Job Corps. She has completed her first term and will
complete a second to expire August 31, 2009.
